Best Budget HD Cam – The Runcam 5

The Runcam 5 has fast become one of the best budget HD cameras we have ever seen for FPV quads.

Traditionally you would use a GoPro to capture all your HD footage. But if you are just a casual pilot, who wants a bit of HD footage after the end of a flying weekend with friends,  then the Runcam 5 might be the perfect option for you. 

A GoPro is obviously going to give you a much better image, but the Runcam 5 is almost on par with the older GoPro session 5, at a fraction of the cost. 

It will do 4k@30fps or 2.7k@60fps – as well as 1080p@120fps and 1080p@60/30fps.

The Runcam 5 is also significantly lighter than a GoPro, weighing in at just 56 grams. To put this into perspective, a GoPro session 5 is around 80 grams and a GoPro Hero 8 is 126 grams! This will give you a much better flight experience, especially if you are already flying a heavy 5” freestyle quad.
